Legal update for Cumbria’s HR professionals

Personnel practitioners from across the county will be attending the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development’s (CIPD) Annual Employment Law Update on 15th May at the Swallow Hilltop Hotel in Carlisle.
Hosted by Cumbria CIPD, the full day event will be presented by the employment law team of Carlisle solicitors’ firm Burnetts.
The packed programme includes a challenging employment law quiz, three hands-on workshop sessions and topical presentations on Redundancy and Restructure (including variations to contract), Employing Migrant Workers as well as a focussed employment law update. Burnetts’ speakers include Senior Partner John Morris, a nationally recognised employment law expert and Chair of the Law Society’s influential Employment Law Committee.
John said, "The CIPD update is one of the team’s favourite events so we are very pleased to be invited to present the session again. The atmosphere is always very relaxed with plenty of discussion and question time and it’s a good opportunity for us to find out more about the concerns of practitioners in Cumbria. Although there hasn’t been a huge volume of new employment legislation, there have been interesting developments in the Tribunals and I’m looking forward to discussing how those developments will impact at grass roots level."
